Sister

My Sister is an absolute bitch. She found out I wasn't applying to Dutchess Community College, and she says:
"So you like spending money, eh?"
But I'm not a complete Douchebag, so i didn't respond. Know what I wanted to say?
"No. I don't like spending money. I like being smart. I like not getting such Shitty SAT grades that I can't get into the schools that I choose like you. You used the excuse for going to Dutchess to everyone as to save money, but our family knows that it's because your grades SUCK. You're not smart, and why would a college like you? Maybe superficially, but I'd feel so bad for your roommate. So no, I don't like spending money, I like working hard to be a good student and being fucking SMART, not rich."
but nope. I had to keep my mouth shut.
I'm just as pretentious as everyone else I guess.

Life 1

Is it:

To make many people happy while we live to make as many people sad when we die.

Cliche

What am I thankful for? The first thing that comes to mind is Not have being born in a 3rd world country. I've actually thought about it before.

I keep thinking about the concept of life more and more frequently, and my thoughts are too strong and complex to put on paper. My mind goes so fast that I can't catch up. Like this:

Why should we care about pain? It doesn't signify anything. If we're hurting, it'll stop hurting at some point, even if the end of the pain is death. So why don't we grin and bear it? All life ends anyway. The feelings of happiness you have, the memories, the sadness, the pain, the confusion, the understanding, it will all be gone. So who cares. Why do we live?

Do we live life not for ourselves, but for others?

Live to Tell the Tale

God bless that smile on your face
God bless the seeds in the ground
God bless my family's keen gaze,
Oh, i know
That whatever happens to you,
Whatever happens to me,
I hope that i'll fall asleep
Knowing that you'll always be
The story with no ending.

Pretty teen-angsty lyrics

Funny the Way it Is

Isn't it funny that we're judged so much on beauty, which is something that we cannot control nearly as much as our attitudes and opinions?

Miike Snow

These guys are in the same boat as Passion Pit, and are quickly becoming one of my top bands. There's three guys, two who have produced for years being the genius behind tracks such as Britney Spear's "Toxic," which they won awards for, and the other being their lead singer. They have a strong indie feel yet the synth feel of an electronica band.

Revisions

So you might remember my post about Selfless Acts of Kindness, but i have a revision to make. If you NEVER will see the person on the receiving end of the Selfless Act of Kindness in your life again, and there is NO possibility of that person having any influence on your life again, then them knowing that you did it still makes it a legitimate selfless act of kindness.

Fail Day

I failed a few times today.
1. Cut myself with an exacto knife
2. Went with the wrong group on Nordic Skiing
3. Fell and got cuts on my elbow, knee, and back from falling on rollerskis
4. Almost forgot my running shoes after skiing

But it was a good day...

Michael Franti

Hey, Hey, Hey
No matter how life is today,
There's just one thing that I got to say:
I won't let another moment slip away.

I donated blood (Good deed, yet not selfless)
I have another secret
I learned what to do with a pickle jar with only juice left
I got a buzzcut
I guess life is good?

On the Topic of

"The ACIP has helped us learn things previously misunderstood about love. Perhaps the most interesting misconception was that true love somehow causes people to place the wants of their beloved ahead of their own needs. Not only is such behavior extremely rare and always temporary, it is not love; it's a pathology, a mental disorder, not unlike schizophrenia or IDD. Even those of you who would willingly sacrifice your own life to save the life of another would do so only when your own needs (e.g., honor, religious belief, ego) outweigh your survival instincts."

A Picture is Worth a lot of Words

Plastic Bags

Alright.
This is what I've wanted to see all my life. No, not fireworks shooting out of Katy Perry's chest. I wanted to see a pop musician use their popularity and talent to convey good messages and break stereotypes. She made a song with meaning behind it, that wasn't about blatant heterosexuality, but about the potential in everyone, whether you're pretty, ugly, gay, straight, young, or old, you have potential.
And it's a sick song.

The Race

Here's the Scenario:

Bill 1, Bill 2, and Bill 3 are at the starting line, and the referee (Who's name happens to be Bill 4) fires the gun. No, none of them die. They just start running really fast. So Bill 1 is in first, Bill 2 is in second, and Bill 3 is in last place.

After the first lap, Bill 2 rolls his ankle and is pulled out of the race, and Bill 1 comes in first with Bill 3 in close second.

So, Bill 1 did win...

BUT!

Did Bill 1 finish before Bill 2?

Trompe L'oeil

Look Closely

We'll Be Alright

This is definitely mockery. I think it's pretty damn funny.

We are young, we run free
Stay up late, we don’t sleep
Got our friends, got the night
We’ll be alright
Throw our hands in the air
Pretty girls everywhere
Got our friends, got the night
We’ll be alright

Tiao Cruz

Most people in the world spread their arms, look up to the sky and shout:

"Why Me?"

When they should really be listening to the crescendo of cries of:

"Why Us?"

Post 4

If an instrument is used correctly, it can turn into percussion with pitch capabilities. Or is that what it always is?

Post 3

I will break the system.
The routine.
The power.
The so called wisdom.

Direct your attention towards me.
I left
This place
You see.
Where the system used to be.

I broke the system.
I left
My old self
behind myself
On my shelf
In a box never to be opened.

Shit i can't write poetry for beans.

Post 2

I've thought excessively about selfless acts of kindness, or selfless service. My definition of a selfless act of kindness is an act of kindness towards someone other than yourself where the only benefit to the person who is performing the kindness is happiness. It shouldn't be a selfish act of kindness if you derive good feelings from it.
BUT WAIT!

there's more.

To make that the only benefit, you cannot tell anyone that you performed this selfless act of kindness.

Ever.

Or else you would get brownie points from that person, no longer qualifying it as selfless.
So if someone asks you if you have ever performed a selfless act of kindness, you have to say "No."

That's the definition of selflessness. I want to see that in people.

So lying is okay sometimes I guess.

Post 1

"Not quite 43 years old, he was the most eligible bachelor on earth, yet he rarely dated. He was the most admired businessman in the world, yet he despised himself. Pete may have been the most intelligent human being on the face of the planet, yet increasingly often he thought, I am the lowest form of life."

It took me 15 minutes, but was fun to make. I'm kind of proud of it. It's shiny.

Note to Halloweenie Self

Next year- Buy a white sheet. And get scissors too. Drape it over your head after cutting holes for the eyes and mouth.
Oh wait.
I'll be in college.
I can't see myself in college next year. I still look like I'm 12.

I ♥ Retro

The letter after Y

I decided to research Sleep. I remember I used to know some cool facts and it was really interesting, so i decided to refresh myself and got some interesting stuff out of it.

So All mammals dream. Birds dream a little bit, but dolphins, dogs, and humans all dream.

During sleep, the Brain archives and sorts memories and data that were acquired while awake.

Some people twitch while they dream, and most breath quickly and their eyes move rapidly.

Dreams come about by completely RANDOM pulses being shot through your brain, and your fore brain interprets it however the hell it wants to. That's why our dreams are so wacky.
